Realm of Kings: Inhumans

Out this week from Marvel comes the first issue of a five issue mini-series Realm of Kings: Inhumans.

A Realm of Kings series! Now led by Queen Medusa, the battered and bruised Inhuman royal family struggles to maintain their grip on the reigns of power over the Kree empire. Courtly intrigues and external threats are beginning to erode their rule - but the biggest threat may lurk within the family itself!

War of Kings’ Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning unite with Pablo Raimondi (X-Factor) for the next chapter in the lives of these classic Marvel characters!

The title might have otherwise passed me by if it wasn't for the superb cover from regular Witchblade artist Stjepan Sejic.

Over at Comixology there are a number of preview pages from the first issue of Realm of Kings: Inhumans as well as pages from the Realm of Kings one-shot out the same day: the interior artwork across both titles looks great.

I remember seeing the Clint Langley cover for this one a few weeks ago and wondering what it was all about, and now I know. I’ll be honest, I don’t know much about these characters, however Dan Abnett is a fantastic writer and one of my favourites from 2000AD, so it should be a good read. The bonus is also two fantastic covers by two of my favourite artists, Stjepan Sejic and Clint Langley.

I guess this is a daft question as it’s Marvel and most likely a given, however you wouldn’t happen to know if this is to be traded at the end of the run?

I think it's probably too early to confirm if/when Realm of Kings will be traded but, as you suggest, it's likely isn't it!

I notice that the aforementioned War of Kings, which I think was originally released in single issues starting back in January this year has this week been released as a near-500-page hardcover collection [source: http://www.collectedcomicslibrary.com/books.html]
