Batman Live World Arena Tour - Opening in the UK in 2011

I've taken what I think could be described as a leap of faith and bought tickets for next years Batman Live world arena tour which opens in the UK in July 2011 and visits Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, Sheffield, Birmingham (see you there, Saturday, 7pm!), London, Liverpool, Nottingham, Dublin and Belfast before heading off on a planned 5 year world touring schedule.

Although details on the Batman Live official website are sparse I'm led to believe the show will feature a massive theatre set, 45 performers, a 100ft stage with an incredible 130 foot wide video screen!

Apparently opening with a breakout at Arkham Asylum the show is set to feature young Dick Grayson's journey to becoming Robin, his partnership with Bruce Wayne's Batman and their fight against familiar foes The Joker, The Riddler, Catwoman and The Penguin.

With the shows technical manager Jake Berry having worked with music acts like U2, Tina Turner and the Rolling Stones I'm expecting something big and bold, very loud, spectacular and engaging.

For the first time in DC Comics history, see Batman the world's most popular DC Super Hero as you've never seen him before, in an all-new, live-action arena adventure, set to take the world by storm. Premiering in the UK in Summer 2011, Batman Live - World Arena Tour is a multi-million pound stage production of unprecedented scale and a must-see for families and Batman fans everywhere.

Based on an original story being created exclusively for the show, Batman Live is a theatrical extravaganza of thrilling stunts, acrobatic acts and illusions. Never before has Gotham City, Wayne Manor, the Batcave and Arkham Asylum been brought to life on stage in a more visually exciting way. Join Batman and Robin as they battle their nemesis The Joker and other super-villains such as The Riddler, Catwoman, The Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, set on destroying Gotham City.

Totally authentic, bold and awe-inspiring, Batman Live will be a completely new way to experience the world of Batman. This is one adventure you do not want to miss!

Find out more from this fantastically indepth feature on the event published by the Belfast Telegraph. Tickets are on sale now at the Batman Live official website.
