As a recent convert to Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead series of comic books published by Image Comics I'm looking forward to the first episode of AMC's new The Walking Dead television series: here in Great Britain the first episode airs this Friday evening, 5 November, at 10pm on FX.
The first episode - which aired in the US on Halloween appropriately enough - has been met with universal praise as far as I can gauge and, according to The Clicker, it seems that 5.3 million viewers tuned in for the first episode last weekend - apparently the highest for any of the shows in the networks history and the biggest for a cable series premiere this year.

The Walking Dead: on TV and in Print
AMC have released a fantastic promotional poster for The Walking Dead ahead of the launch of television series later this year.
Now, I know I'm a little late to the Walking Dead party but I've really been enjoying reading the first trade collection and I'm looking forward to the launch of the tv series late next month on AMC and, I understand, a week or so later on FX in the UK.
Speaking of the printed book, Image recently released this teaser poster ahead of the release of issue #80 of their book - with the 10th or 11th collected volume set for release later this year I believe I've got a fair bit of reading to go until I discover the answer to the question 'what is left but ... surrender'.
