Scott Pilgrim / The Baroness Team-Up (Sort Of)

My action figure 'collection' is slowly growing you'll be glad to read - I've recently added a Captain America and Black Widow to sit alongside Batgirl, assorted Batmen (Batmans?) and G.I. Joe's The Baroness ... and next on my list is Scott Pilgrim.

I've been really enjoying recently re-reading Bryan Lee O'Malley's Scott Pilgrim books published by Oni Press, and Edgar Wright's film - Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - is one of the best I've seen at the cinema all year.

These 6 inch figures from Mezco look fantastic I think and according to Forbidden Planet here in Britain will be available at the end of February 2011 and will retail at £12.99.

Epic.

Scott Pilgrim vs The World

The first official trailer for Edgar Wright's forthcoming film Scott Pilgrim vs The World has been released and if this teaser is anything to go by, it's going to be a lot of fun.

[This video might only play for readers/viewers in the UK ... I'm not sure (and how can I prove otherwise?!): if that's the case you'll also find it on iTunes Movie Trailers]

Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera), bass guitarist for the garage band Sex Bob-omb, has just met the girl of his dreams. However, he must defeat Ramona Flowers' (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) seven evil exes, who are coming to kill him.

Scott Pilgrim has never had a problem getting a girlfriend. It’s getting rid of them that proves difficult. From the girl who kicked his heart’s ass — and now is back in town — to the teenage distraction he’s trying to shake when Ramona roller blades into his world, love hasn’t been easy. He soon discovers, however, his new crush has the most unusual baggage of all: a nefarious league of exes control her love life and will do whatever it takes to eliminate him as a suitor.

As Scott gets closer to Ramona, he must face an increasingly vicious rogues’ gallery from her past, from infamous skateboarders to vegan rock stars and fearsomely identical twins. And if he hopes to win his true love, he must vanquish them all before it really is game over.

Based on the Scott Pilgrim comic books, created by Bryan Lee O'Malley and published by Oni Press, the film is released in August 2010.

This year is shaping-up to be a very good year for visits to the cinema.
